Last Ran: July Week Four Leg Type: Front Runner Amar is still happily sociable on the track, but he sheds his content self for a competitive one. As surprising as it is, Amar is one of the most business-minded horses we have saddled. The minute he steps hoof on the track, he becomes almost an entirely different horse. Amar loads easily, breaks like a rocket, and goes straight to the lead, assuming control right from the beginning. He seeks to maintain control - or, at the very least, a very fast pace - throughout the race, utilizing the full advantages gifted to him from having a high cruising speed. If any horse tries to pressure him, Amar will not cave. He likes to be on or near the lead and in control of the pace. However, unlike many other front runners who like to be at the front and nowhere else, Amar will listen when his rider tells him to do something. If his rider wants him to slow the pace right down, Amar will do so. He certainly won't be happy about it, especially if he ends up a pace or two off the lead, but he will listen. At all times on the track, and especially when challenged, Amar displays the strength of will that makes him so difficult to put up with when his living conditions are unsatisfactory. He is stubbornly competitive and will never go down without putting up a fight first. Though he accepts defeat gracefully, Amar is not one to roll over when challenged. |
easy-going but fierceAmaretto Stone is quite the lazy bum off the track. He loves to be in his stall, munching on his hay with the company of the barn cat and some music in the aisle. The quiet life is the content one for him. He could care less if he ever got the opportunity to go outside at all because, for him, his stall is his comfort zone. He is not an adventurous type, that's for sure. He is happily sociable, always willing to neigh at both horse and human alike and spend his time with them. His social, happy personality transfers over well to his attitude under saddle. He is a dream to ride and rarely gives his rider issues. The one thing to look out for with Amar, though, is that he is very particular. He likes to be in his stall, with a certain amount of heat, at a certain temperature level. To wander outside his strictly defined fields of comfort is to annoy and bother this horse. That is the only time you will ever see Amar get worked up, and a worked up Amar is difficult to deal with. Ears pinned, hooves planted - Amar will not do a thing until whatever is bothering him is restored to a condition that he finds acceptable. Until that point in time, Amar is a stubborn mule who will absolutely refuse to do what is asked of him. His strength of will commands respect. That, combined with how hard he is to deal with when he is in that state, makes the barn staff absolutely ensure that Amar is kept happy at all times.
