Last Ran: August Week Two Leg Type: Closer Cry is the image of his sire. He is all quiet, majestic calm throughout the post parade and on the track, gentle to his track pony and easy to manage for the crew. He breaks like molasses, however, and drops out of the race almost immediately. It is not uncommon for him to be trailing the field by as many as ten lengths within the first furlong. Cry collects himself, however, and lumbers along without a care in the world, enjoying his stroll across the track. Right at the final turn, Cry explodes into action, accelerating like a sprinter and going off the lead. His explosive move is exactly like Infinite Warcry's; fire to gasoline, count to five, and suddenly Cry is there, bearing down on the front. No matter how far back he may be, Cry doesn't give up. He can be challenged all day long, but relishes rather than fears it. He will stare any horse down when they throw down the gauntlet and just run faster. His closing move tends to blow the field wide open, as horses that weren't expecting him need to rebreak in order to keep up. Some of his finishes can be quite hairy, but every horse out there knows that Cry is coming for them as soon as they hit the last half of the race. |
there is no shutting me downMajor Cry, as he's known around the barn, is a big, muscly horse with the attitude of a puppy. Bred from two gentle horses, Cry's loving, calm personality was no real surprise, but in a crop of apparently crazy horses it is doubly appreciated. Cry can always be relied on to be a rock of stability in a tumultuous world. There is no better horse to go to when you are having a bad day. A gentle nuzzle and quiet snort in your face from this horse will make you feel as though yes, the sun will rise tomorrow. Cry is a gentle giant. He is physically imposing, but his personality is just the opposite. The horse rarely startles, always listens, and never gives anybody a hard time. Major Cry loves to nap at least once a day and loves getting his nose pet. He is not always the calm, easygoing horse he appears to be, however. Cry does not take lip from other horses. If they try to assert themselves over him, they are greeted with a baleful stare and completely ignored. Those horses can try as hard as they want past that point to regain his attention, but they will never get - nor his respect - until they stop bothering him. Cry is usually only too willing to receive attention, but he draws the line at aggression and will not respond to it whatsoever.
