Jockey: Violet Mereficus
Last Ran: August Week Three Leg Type: Variable Surprise, surprise - Mitsu's racing style varies with whatever her mood is on those days. On some days, she'll be raring to go, literally chomping on the bit in the gate and heading straight to the pace at the front the minute the gates open. On others, Mitsu might seem positively lackadaisical, loading as though she can't be bothered, breaking slow, and staying towards the back throughout the race. One thing you can absolutely count on with this horse, though, is her closing kick. Regardless of where this filly is in the field and what racing style she's adopted that day, Mitsu can always be relied on to give every ounce of speed and heart once asked. She will rebreak and suddenly accelerate, reaching her top speed within seconds and going for broke as though there's nothing else in the world for it. Mitsu will go swinging for the lead within two furlongs of the finish, typically halfway through the final turn. Depending on how she's run the race so far, it'll either seem as though she's come alive or gone from blazing in the lead to a raging inferno. Mitsu's jockey absolutely needs to be in tune with her moods in order to figure out the best style to run her in during a race. Violet accepted the gray filly as a mount as a challenge, but thankfully the two get along famously well, with Violet having devoted countless hours to studying her moods once she learned she might earn the ride on a daughter of Spitz and Terror Smile. |
a personality like the weatherMitsu is the cutest and coolest horse on the property, but don't tell Mitsu that. The slim gray filly is like a cloud; on some days she's like a wispy calm cloud in the upper reaches of the sky, distantly amused by whatever she's thinking about, easy to distract with loud noises or new environmental phenomena. On other days, Mitsu is like a storm cloud, unhappy about every little thing, needlessly fussy, and completely impossible to handle. The most important thing to remember when handling Mitsu is to first attune yourself to whatever her mood is that day; arriving in her presence without such knowledge can be fatal. Mitsu is not a difficult filly to get to know, provided you observe and learn her moods. Once you do that, you'll be Mitsu's best friend, always reacting in the way she wants you to react and able to get along with her like a house on fire. Mitsu is a playful filly, the kind of horse who will chew on people's ponytails or step on your feet just to whinny as though she's laughing and then step off of it. In her stormcloud mood, however, Mitsu is the opposite of happy despite whatever you do. On those days, it's best to leave this filly with a jolly ball or some other inanimate object to interact with, as she's really not a good horse to put around horse or human on those days. Despite her many different moods and emotions, Mitsu is entrancing, the kind of filly who captures your heart without you knowing why. She can be a lot of fun to be around - or a complete terror - all depending on which day of the week it is.
