Last Ran: August Week One Leg Type: Closer Odd Tidal is one of the most beautiful movers on the roster. She's gorgeous to look at and never seems to have long odds on the board because of it. Though independent and willful both on and off the track, Tide does spare a flicked ear for her rider when racing and is known to generally follow what's asked of her, provided a woman is on her back. She can be ridden by beginner riders due to her general willingness to follow directions, though of course the best results seem to come from experienced hands with this one. Though a quick breaker, Tide likes to lay off the pace and bide her time for the end. This could be because she likes the competitive drive of willing herself ahead of her competitors within the final furlongs of a race. Tide is all about the race to the finish; give her about five furlongs to warm up, maybe a mile depending on the race, and in the final quarter Tide brings it, clocking her fastest fractions of the race as she turns it on and swarms the field. Her best running comes at the top of the stretch, where she closes like an inevitable and undeniable fright train intent on getting to the wire first. |
leave me be like the tides of the seaTide is a strong, competitive, and outgoing filly. While she is generally unafraid of any situation that she encounters, though, she prefers the company of herself over the company of others - perhaps it's due to her competitive streak! Tide loves to give any horse she encounters a run for their money and loves to compete, whether that be a game of who-can-eat-the-carrot-the-fastest or who runs the fastest on the track. This explains her amazing consistency; Tide brings it every time when she's on the track and is known for the quick, sharp workouts she runs. An interesting thing about Tide is that she is very much a woman's horse. While she's more than happy to face down the boys at any given time, she doesn't like being handled by them and will stubbornly give them a hard time every inch of the way. She needs a woman's touch if she is to do anything at all, and we're honestly not sure how she got this way. Tide is a very willful horse who likes to get everything done her way. She can be a stubborn minx and doesn't ever admit that she's beaten; every loss in and of itself seems to be treated like a victory by this horse.
